Nerd Nite San Francisco & Nerd Nite East Bay

imagesLearning is more fun when you’re drinking with friends and colleagues. Thus, Nerd Nite is a monthly event held in more than 50 cities across the globe during which several folks give 18-21-minute fun-yet-informative presentations across all disciplines – while the audience drinks along.  And there are often bands, acrobats, trivia, and other shenanigans as well.

Atlas Obscura / Obscura Society San Francisco

In an age where everything seems to have been explored and there is nothing new to be found, we celebrate a different way of looking at the world. The Obscura Society is the real world exploration arm of Atlas Obscura, seeking out secret histories, unusual access, and opportunities to explore strange and overlooked places hidden all around us. We host regular explorations in and around the Bay Area and Northern Calfornia, designed to reveal the hidden city lurking just below the surface.

Join us on Facebook for local event updates, weird SF history tidbits, and other curious, odd and weirdly inspiring stuff we find fascinating.
